Overview

Annapurna Base Camp trek is another popular trekking trail of Nepal. It is an amazing walk through diverse landscape and culture complete with rich mountain vistas, terraced fields, lovely Gurung villages and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Mt. Annapurna (8091m) of Nepal is the 10th highest mountain in the world and the journey to its base camp, which is at 4130m height, is one of the most popular walks on earth. Moreover, we reach our destination via Mt. Machapuchhre (Fishtail) which is revered by the Nepalese for its unique beauty.

 Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Difficulty

The difficulty increases if you trek during the monsoon season. During the monsoon there are heavy rainfalls which makes the trail muddy and Slippery and you also encounter the leech. You need to be Careful with your Steps. If you trek there in January, it’s covered with Snow So, it may difficult to find the trail sometime.Therefore, it is best to avoid trek there in the Monsoon and in Winter. if you are a beginner. If you are an well experienced trekker, then you are sure to enjoy in any seasons.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and prepare for the trek
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (800)
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk (1940m)
Day 05: Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2170m)
Day 06: Chhomrong to Bamboo (2310m)
Day 07: Bamboo to Deurali (3230m)
Day 08: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m)
Day 09: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m)
Day 10: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m)
Day 11: Trek to Naya Pul and drive to Pokhara (800)
Day 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1350)
Day 13: Final Departure

 

Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

You will be picked up by our airport representative and transferred to the hotel. You can have refreshment at the hotel and explore around city.

Day 02Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and prepare for the trek

Today, we will drive you to Bhaktapur for sightseeing. It is one of the oldest heritage site of Kathmandu valley where you can see the ancient Bhaktapur Durbar Square and others old temple as well. After that you will be taken to BoudhanathStupa which is the most popular and huge Buddhist temple of Nepal. Having finished it, we will drive you to Hotel and prepare for the next day’s trip.

Day 03Kathmandu to Pokhara

On the next day, we will take a private car or tourist bus early in the morning to Pokhara which takes around 7-8 hours. Pokhara is one of the popular city for tourist where we spend a night at Lake side.

Day 04 Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk (1940m)

We drive to Naya Pul (1 hour and 20 minutes) and trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Gurung community. If time permits, we also visit the Gurung museum today. 

Day 05Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2170m)

From here the way climbs up for around an hour up to Kimrungdanda with the scenic views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre) and Ganggapurna. The way descends to Kimrong Khola and then ascends up to Chomrong where we stay a night.

Day 06Chhomrong to Bamboo (2310m)

Chhomrong is a beautiful village located on the lap of the giant Annapurna massive from where we descend via 2500 stone steps and cross the bridge above Chhomrong Khola. From here it is an uphill climb to Sinuwa then the way goes through dense forest and finally arrives at Bamboo where we stay a night.

Day 07 Bamboo to Deurali (3230m)

The way passes through a bamboo forest which is damp and cold then ascends steadily with a few steep sections and gets to Himalya hotel. It is a steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave. From here we descend and finally arrive at Deurali. Overnight at Deurali.

Day 08 Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m)

We Climb gently from here, cross the river and continue our journey through yak pasture arrive at Fishtai Base Camp where we will stop for Lunch. From here we slowly climb up to ABC with the excellent views of the majestic Machhapuchhre along with Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna which makes your trek more memorable. We spend a night there.

Day 09 Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m)

After having spent a night there, we will descend to Bamboo through the same way which takes around 5 hours. Overnight at Bamboo.

Day 10Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m)

From Bamboo, it is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will take bath in the natural hot water which is just a 15-20 minute downhill walk from Jhinu Danda to soothe our aching body. Overnight at Jhinu Danda.

Day 11Trek to Naya Pul and drive to Pokhara

Today, we start our journey after breakfast. We will follow the same way to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara.

Day 12Pokhara to Kathmandu

From Pokhara we will catch a tourist bus to Kathmandu which takes around 7-8 hours. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 13 Final Departure

Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! We will drop you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
