Overview

Mera Peak, one of the famous and beautiful peaks of Nepal is located in the Makalu Barun National Park on upper Inkhu Valley which starts from Lukla and ends at the same place. The panoramic view seen from Mera High Camp is truly breathtaking and probably one of the best of its kind.

The climbing starts early in the morning and you can see a lovely view of Khumbu Valley while ascending. The view from the summit is one of the finest in the Himalayas with five spectacular 8,000 meter Peaks visible. Mt.Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyu (8,201m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), and Nuptse (7,855m) as well, which makes your trip unforgettable.

Peak Difficulty

Mera Peak is an adventurous trek of the Khumbu region

As you trek to a higher altitude, You might have some difficulty in breathing. The amount of Oxygen becomes thinner as you walk up to a higher altitude, so you may also face Acute Mountain Sickness.

The difficulty increases if you trek during the monsoon season. During the monsoon, there are heavy rainfalls which makes the trail muddy and Slippery. You need to be careful with your Steps. Therefore, it is best to avoid trekking there in the Monsoon if you are a beginner. If you are a well-experienced trekker, then you are sure to enjoy any season.
