Overview

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one the famous trek of Annapurna region. As it is a short trek of only five days. Though we don’t need to face high altitude during this trek because the maximum elevation during the entire trek is only 2540m at Ghorepani. Both Teahouse and Camping trekking can be conducted in Ghorepani Poon hill trek. Throughout the trek we will settle for night in Gurung and Magar’s village. During the Poon hill trek we get opportunity to explore the forest side full of Rhododendron, Oak tree beautiful birds and other animal. The main attraction of trekking is Poon Hill (3210) from where we can view breathtaking view of Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. Regarding the trek it is short trek including major point of attraction like Ghandruk and Poon Hill. Ghandruk is also famous for internal tourist of Nepal. In Ghandruk one can take the Gurung cultural dress in rent takes some antique picture with it. The early morning breakfast menu include special Gurung Bread with is so much delicious one must try it. And during lunch time another special menu item is Dal Bhat. Dhal Bhat power twenty four hour. Along with Nepalese dish all Italian, Continental and European item,chinese are available as per order. People organize cultural night in Ghandruk where they perform traditional dance.

Brief Itinerary:

Day01:In the Morning drive to to Nayapul at 8.30 am and trek to Tikhedhunga (Tea house) (1,495m/4,905 ft),3-4 hrs
Day 02 : Trek to Ghorepani (Tea House) (2,850m/9,350ft). 6-7hrs
Day 03 : Hike Poon hill (3210m/10528ft), and trek to Tadapani (2,520m/8268ft),(Tea House)
6-7 hrs
Day 04 : Trek to Ghandruk (1,950m/6,398ft), (Tea House)3-4 hrs
Day 05 : Trek Ghandruk to Nayapull and drive to Pokhara,(Tea House) 5-6 hrs

Itinerary

Day 01In the Morning drive to to Nayapul at 8.30 am and trek to Tikhedhunga (Tea house) (1,495m/4,905 ft),3-4 hrs

After breakfast in Lakeside (Pokhara) and 1 ½ hour car / van / hiace and bus drive according to group size to Naya Pul and commence our trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous riverside village beside the Modi River & Broomdi Khola.( stream) We head up the main trail and follow upstream of Broomdi Khola (stream) to Sudame where we climb gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) before pushing on to Tikhe Dhunga final destination of the day. Overnight at guest house run by the typical village family.

Day 02Trek to Ghorepani (Tea House) (2,850m/9,350ft). 6-7hrs

After breakfast we prepare for the long uphill and start with steeply ascends on the long stone staircases to Ulleri village with the amazing landscape and marvelous view of Annapurna South and Hiuchuli. We spend a pleasant day’s trekking through rhododendron and oak forests. The scenery gives you inner power to climb up these steps and immerse you to walk more. After few hours of walking with several breaks in between reaching at Ghorepani, we can enjoy the fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range.

Day 03Hike Poon hill (3210m/10528ft), and trek to Tadapani (2,520m/8268ft),(Tea House) 6-7 hrs

An early morning start for 45 minutes hike up to Poon hill (3210m/10530ft), the route offers the glimpse of the pleasant rhododendron forest. This brilliant viewpoint provides us an unobstructed sunrise over the high Himalayas and the wide range of panoramic scenery from the far western Himalaya of Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and wised range of Annapurna Himalayas including Mt. Machhapuchre (Fish Tail) and all the way to Manasalu. After a great time in Poon Hill, trek back to Ghorepani, breakfast and continue trek to Tadapani through thick pine and rhododendron forest with occasionally flat, more ascends and descends along the ridge.

Day 04Trek to Ghandruk (1,950m/6,398ft), (Tea House)3-4 hrs

Today, we have short and pleasant walking day through the forested and downhill path most of the way with occasional view of the Mountain leads us through the gradual path most of the trail to Ghandrung village for overnight stop. This is heavily settled Gurung village, a modern sample clean and modern village of Nepal and explore the surrounding area, visit typical museum and simply relax at the hotel.

Day 05Trek Ghandruk to Nayapull and drive to Pokhara,(Tea House) 5-6 hrs

The trail descends following the stone staircases, Annapurna South, Hiuchuli and Machapuchhre (Fishtail) are clearly visible along the route.It’s our final trek day today. As we descend from Ghandruk, we pass through villages before crossing a suspension bridge that crosses the Modi Khola river. After arriving back at Naya Pul (1070m), we then take a bus to Pokhara, where we can settle in and rest after our trekking adventure.At night, we head out to dinner and celebrate our feast.Trek distance:10 km  Elevation: 870m  Trek time: 4 hours
