Overview

Khopra Dada Trek (3,660m), recognized as one of the best viewpoints of the Annapurna region recently opened a new trekking route. It can be done within 10 days. It follows the Ghorepani Poon hill trek providing the trekkers with majestic views of the mountain peaks of Annapurna I, II, and III, Nilgiri peak, Dhaulagiri, and much more in the Annapurna region.
In Khopra Dada Trek, You can see the beautiful scenery of red rhododendron forests with its overwhelming nature.
The best and highest point of our trek is the sacred Khayer Lake (4,600m). It is surrounded by shrines, and with the peak of Annapurna towering above you can see the stunning views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri along with the green scenery of the countryside.

 

Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

You will be picked up by our airport representative and transferred to the hotel. You can have refreshment at the hotel and explore around city.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and prepare for the trek

Today, we will drive you to Bhaktapur for sightseeing. It is one of the oldest heritage site of Kathmandu valley where you can see the ancientBhaktapur Durbar Square and others old temple as well. After that you will be taken to Boudhanath Stupa which is the most popular and huge Buddhist temple of Nepal. Having finished it, we will drive you to Hotel and prepare for the next day’s trip.

Day 03Fly(30min) to Pokhara (850m) and drive 2hrs to Nayapul trek to Ghandruk 5-6 hrs (2,000m)

We will fly early in the morning from Kathmandu to Pokhara and catch a cab to Nayapul. After crossing the suspension bridge at Birethanti the trail leads up to Modi Khola towards Sauli Bazaar, which is pleasant walking on the river bank.

Then the trail leads uphill through stone steps to Ghandruk which offers great scenery of farm terraces, village settlements, waterfalls, and Mt. Annapurna as well as Mt. Fishtail. After a short rest at the lodge, walk around the village to explore its cultural beauty.

Day 04Ghandruk(2,000m) to Tadapani(2,710m) 4hrs

After having breakfast at Ghandruk, we trek Tadapani to which takes about 4 hours. The trail leads up to Bhaisekharka through the forest and continues up to the Tadapani. On the way you can see beautiful scenery and massif views of Annapurna and the forest offers pleasant walks through.

Day 05Tadapani to Bayali (3,450m) 5hrs

From Tadapani, the trail goes through to jungle towards the North ridge at Bayali. The way is narrow even though you can observe the grand and most beautiful view of Annapurna South with Modi Khola valley at the down view with the green forest of Pine and Rhododendron. Stay overnight in the tea house.

Day 06Bayali to Khopradanda(3,660m) 3-4 hrs

After having breakfast at the tea house, the walk begins uphill to the ridge and has superb views of Annapurnas and the other valley of Kaligandaki. The way goes through the forest with beautiful scenery. You can look around the village in the evening and then stay overnight in the tea house.

Day 07 Explore day (visit Khayar Lake)

We go to visit Khayar Lake which is a bit far from the Khopradanda. It is located at an altitude of 4,600m above sea level even higher than Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/1,3549ft). It is a five-hour walk which is worth walking due to the magnificent views of the mountains.

Day 08 Khopradanda to Swanta (2,400m) 6-7 hrs

Today, after breakfast we will trek to Swanta. It is downhill today in the beginning and up again to cross Ridge to get to Swanta.  Swanta offers a beautiful view of Kali Gandaki valley and a massif view of Mt. Dhauligiri  (It is the seventh highest mountain in the world at 8,167 meters (26,795 ft) above sea level),  with surrounding peaks. Swanta offers a basic tea house for overnight.

Day 09Swanta to Ghorepani (2,900m) 3-4hrs

From Swanta we descend to Chtre then up to Ghorepani which is the popular trekking trail again where you meet other trekkers as well. Ghorepani is one of the most popular places due to the Poohhill(3,200m) from where you can see closer distant views of the AnnapurnasFishtail(6,993m/22,943m) which has a Nepali popular Name Mount Machhapuchchhre and Dhauligiri (8,167/26,795ft).

Day 10 Ghorepani(2874m) 7hrs to Pokhara(840m)

You should wake up early in the morning today to see the sunrise and great mountain views from Poon Hill(3,200m), then trek down to your lodge and have breakfast. After having breakfast we will trek to Nayapul to get a bus ride to Pokhara. We stayed overnight at Pokhara.

Day 11Pokhara to Kathmandu(1,350m)

From Pokhara, we will catch a tourist bus to Kathmandu which takes around 7-8 hours. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. We stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 12Final Departure

Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! We will drop you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
